Tempered Faith reflects the central idea behind the music: a faith in creativity and community that has been tested, slowed down, and reshaped, but not abandoned. Rather than pursuing spectacle or urgency, the set follows small sparks of curiosity and allows them room to unfold.
Created during lockdown while Sara envisioned community with her own physical health limitations and developed over time into a live set, the work grew from a desire to create a space where people could pause, listen, gather, and rest.
Performed live at Moondog Cafe in Detroit, Tempered Faith is both a sonic environment and a love letter to the abandoned self; the parts of us we can lose when survival, productivity, and caring for others take over. It is an invitation to return to curiosity, to make something simply because it brings us alive, and to recognize that small acts of creativity and care can still create meaningful spaces for connection.
